        About the author...

Thanks to a story loving family, Lauren grew up being read to and reading great books. During undergrad, she wrote a series of short plays and then produced and directed a community performance of them. Two of these short pieces were later published by Brooklyn Publishers (under her maiden name Lauren Denson). She also wrote and read her poetry and short stories within the creative writing community at The University of the Incarnate Word. Several of those pieces were published in The Storyteller, The Writer's Post Journal, and Barbaric Yawp, as well as her university’s publication, Quirk.

She then earned her M.A. in English from Texas Tech University, focusing on Early British Literature. Lauren worked briefly as an adjunct for Tarrant County College, before deciding to stay at home with her two wonderful, crazy daughters.

She is currently a member of the DFW Writer’s Workshop and a founding member of the W.H.A.M writing group. Besides reading and writing, Lauren enjoys cooking, pottery, and photography. She also has this bad habit of staying up all night to finish a good book.
